LEGO Star Wars Magazine Issue 142 Hits UK Shelves With Ahsoka's 332nd Clone
The newest UK newsstand drop for Star Wars fans is here. LEGO Star Wars magazine issue 142 from Immediate Media reached British shops this week, and it arrives with two things tucked onto the cover rather than one: a 332nd Clone Trooper minifigure in every copy, plus a bonus LEGO gift pulled from an earlier issue. Which bonus you get is down to luck, and that is exactly what makes this month's edition worth a closer look.
Inside the Pages This Month
The reading side keeps to the format younger fans know well. The lead story asks whether Han Solo can pull off a rescue as Boba Fett makes his escape, a fun role reversal for two characters who usually sit on opposite sides of a carbonite slab. Around the comic you get the usual Immediate Media mix: puzzles and activity pages, pull-out posters, fact features and competitions with LEGO sets as prizes.
It is a proper kids' magazine in its own right, not just a wrapper for the bag. If the copy is going to a young reader, the comics and posters will get plenty of use long after the figure has joined the shelf.
Spotlight on the 332nd Clone Trooper
The guaranteed gift is a trooper from the 332nd Company, the clone unit that served under Ahsoka Tano in the final season of The Clone Wars and wore orange markings in her honour. For a lot of fans, the Siege of Mandalore arc is the high point of the animated series, and the 332nd are the faces of it.
This isn't a brand-new design. The same 332nd Clone Trooper minifigure appeared in the now-retired 75359 332nd Ahsoka's Clone Trooper Battle Pack and in this year's 75449 Siege of Mandalore Battle Pack. What the magazine offers is a single figure on its own, with no need to buy a whole battle pack just to add one more orange-striped clone to the ranks.
The Luck-of-the-Draw Bonus
The second item is where things get interesting. Each copy of LEGO Star Wars magazine issue 142 carries a bonus gift recycled from a previous edition, and they are distributed at random. According to Brick Fanatics, the possible extras include:
- a mini Juggernaut tank build
- a mini AT-TE build
- Luke Skywalker
- a TIE Pilot
- a Mandalorian pilot
- The Mandalorian himself
- a Coruscant Guard clone trooper
Jedi News reported finding the 65-piece Juggernaut, which originally came with issue 122. For clone army builders, the jackpot is the Coruscant Guard, which turns this issue into a two-clone pickup in one go.
Why Collectors Should Pay Attention
Collecting value here comes from convenience and combination rather than rarity. A few things stand out:
- It's an easy army builder. The 332nd figure is a straightforward way to grow an Ahsoka-themed clone squad one trooper at a time.
- The bonus creates variants. Because the extra gift changes from copy to copy, completists may want to note which version they own, and some may chase a specific pairing.
- It continues a clone-heavy run. Recent issues have leaned hard into the Republic, with the 327th Clone Trooper in issue 140 and the Clone Death Trooper in issue 141. Issue 142 slots neatly into that sequence on a back-issue shelf.
- It sets up what's next. Issue 143, due in November, swaps the clones for K-2SO from Rogue One and Andor.
A UK Newsstand Exclusive
Like every title in this line, the magazine is printed for UK retail only. It isn't sold through LEGO.com or US toy shops, so overseas collectors depend on import stock. Once the next issue replaces it on the shelf, supply of sealed copies with the bags still attached starts to dry up quickly, especially for a random-gift issue where buyers are opening copies to see what they got.
If you want LEGO Star Wars magazine issue 142 with a particular bonus, it's worth asking which gift is attached before you buy, because you can't tell from the cover.
